New Delhi : A local businessman’s ten-year-old son, abducted for Rs. 15 million ransom two days ago, has been found killed in Sonepat district of Haryana, the police said Wednesday.
According to the police, the victim, identified as Vipul, was abducted by his father’s business rival Siddharth Jaitely outside their Neel Kanth Apartments in Rohini area of northwest Delhi on Oct 15.
Vipul’s mutilated body was recovered Wednesday morning. The police have arrested Siddharth Jaitely and his wife on charges of abduction and murder of the boy, and for criminal conspiracy.
The police said Siddharth killed Vipul, a class four student of G.D. Goneka School, just two hours after his abduction. To mislead his family and the police, Siddharth demanded Rs. 15 million as ransom amount. Vipul’s father is a well-known businessman in drugs and chemicals.
“We have recovered Rs. 3.3 million in cash from the Honda City car of the accused, and are investigating whether the victim’s family paid any ransom amount,” said a senior police official.
