Hyderabad : Four goals by Ossama Hossini helped defending football champions Egypt crushed Qatar 5-0 in the first semi-final at the Army Ordnance Corps Centre ground in the 4th Military World Games here Thursday.
Hossini, who managed a hat-trick before half-time, was in roaring form as he scythed through the Qatari defence time and again. He opened the scoring in the very second minute with an opportunistic header off a precise cross from the left flank by Mahmoud Abdul Rzik.
After wasting a couple of chances, the striker was again on target, this time the cross from the right by Mohssen Ibraheem nodded home in the 34th minute. Five minutes before the interval, Hossini completed his hat-trick following a one-two with fellow striker Ahmed Eid.
Hossini added another to the tally in the 55th minute and Eid completed the rout with a brilliant solo run past three Qatari defenders nine minutes from the final whistle.
Qatar finished the game with 10 men as deep defender Abdulla Ayal was sent to the showers early by Dutch referee Wilko Jansen after two bookable offences.
Cameroon play North Korea in the other semi-final later Thursday.
