Dhaka : The Bangladesh government has decided to import 50,000 tonnes of rice through open tender to increase the stock of rice.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the advisory committee on government purchase in the cabinet room of the Secretariat here Tuesday. Finance Adviser Dr. AB Mirza Azizul Islam chaired the
meeting.
The finance adviser told reporters that the meeting had also approved the tender for development of roads in four upazilas of Brahmanbaria district under the “Rural Infrastructure Development
Project-26”.
The project is being implemented with financial assistance from the International Development Association (IDA) and the Government of Bangladesh.
Law and Information Adviser Barrister Mainul Hosein, Communications Adviser Major General (retd) MA Matin, LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser M Anwarul Iqbal and Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Tapan Chowdhury attended the meeting.
