Islamabad : Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan Thursday after eight long years in exile, with tens of thousands of frenzied supporters massed outside the Karachi airport to greet her.
An Emirates plane carrying the charismatic Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader landed here from Dubai, one of the two places Bhutto made her home after she was forced to leave her country after corruption charges were slapped against her and her husband.
Bhutto, 54, will lead the PPP in general elections due before mid-January
