‘Global Investors Summit to be landmark event in history of MP’s industrial development’

Bhopal: The preparations are underway on a war-footing for the Global Investors Summit to be held at Indore on October 26 and 27.

The preparations were reviewed during a meeting by the Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Indore.

According to sources the upcoming Global Investors Meet of the State Government got a boost with around 340 investors giving the nod to attend the meet. Of them, 90 investors would be from abroad.

Chouhan said that the summit would facilitate inflow of “quality investment” in the State and it would be a landmark event in the history of the State’s industrial development. He said the main idea behind the meet was to sell Madhya Pradesh as an investment destination to the world create an overall investment climate.

He admitted that the state was behind the race of development when compared with other industrialized states of India like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka, but with the investors’ meet, “Madhya Pradesh will become the talking point in India and hopefully in the world”.

The Chief Minister said that there could not have been be a better avenue for the summit than Indore.

He said that prospects of rapid industrialization of Madhya Pradesh had increased. He said that the State Government would pay due attention to development of small-scale industries and try to solve the problems of local industrialists.

He said that a suitable decision would be taken soon regarding the problems in Pithampur and the IT Park. He said that a 300-day action plan was being implemented for development of small-scale industries.

He appealed to the industrialists and the citizens to extend their full cooperation to make the Global Investors Summit a grand success.

Managing Director of MP Industrial Development Corporation Praveen Garg informed about the preparations for the summit. He informed that consent of over 300 prospective investors has been received for the summit.

Minister for Transport Himmat Kothari, Minister for PWD Kailash Vijaywargiya; Minister for Education Laxaman Singh Gaud, Indore Mayor Uma Shashi Sharma, IDA chairman Madhu Verma, MLA Usha Thakur,other public representatives, industrialists and officers concerned attended the meeting.

Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the venue of the Global Investors Summit. He inspected the dome being constructed near Hotel Fortune Landmark for the summit. He was informed that different presentations would be made. ([email protected])
