Manila : An explosion Friday rocked a Manila shopping mall killing at least four people and injuring several more, police said.
The blast occurred in front of a restaurant inside the Glorietta shopping centre in the financial district of Makati.
A staff of the Makati Medical Centre, where most of the injured were brought, said four fatalities suffered from what appeared to be shrapnel wounds.
Rescuers said smoke still covered the site of the explosion, making rescue operations difficult. Part of the walkway leading to the mall was destroyed and debris were scattered in the blast area.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the explosion.
