The lead actors are: Suhasini, who returns to Malayalam films after a long gap, Biju Menon and Thilakan.

Producer of the film Aryadan Shoukat has written the story of the film.

Speaking to IANS, Shoukat said the story revolves around Sahira, a Muslim woman who flees Gujarat soon after the riots and arrives in Kozhikode.

“This role is played by Priyanka who recently starred in a Tamil film. Sahira arrives in Kozhikode and is taken care by Mary Varghese (Suhasini) and Gopinath (Biju Menon).”

“She has a lot of problems related to the aftermath of the riots and she is brought back to normalcy by the two doctors,” said Shoukat, son of senior Congress leader and former minister Aryadan Mohammed.

The film would be shot in Ahmedabad, Wayanad and Kozikode.

“We expect to finish the shooting in a month’s time and the film would be ready for release early next year,” added Shoukat.

This is the 12th film for director Chandran and most of his earlier films have undertones of politics and feminism.
