Agra : Around 1,600 shooters including 600 markswomen will vie for the top honours in the 17th All India Mavlankar Shooting Championship that started here Wednesday.
“This is the biggest show so far. More than 600 female shooters have joined the competition. India is fast emerging as a shooters’ paradise and we have in the recent past won many laurels,” Municipal commissioner Shyam Singh Yadav, who is also a national coach, told IANS.
The tournament is held under the aegis of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the parent body of the sport in the country.
