New Delhi : Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil Monday asked the central paramilitary forces and other security agencies to design and develop new equipment to fight terrorists who are increasingly using advanced technology in their terror attacks.
“Terrorists are now using new technologies to create panic. They are using unconventional things, like cosmetics, for making bombs,” Patil said, while addressing the 68th Raising Day of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) here.
“The forces should devise new techniques to counter their strategies as the problem of terrorism is not going to go easily,” Patil added.
Lauding the force’s commendable work in internal security, Patil said his ministry was actively considering increasing the strength of the already “overburdened” force.
“The CRPF is handling most of the counter-insurgency operations in the country and is over burdened with a lot of assignments. So we are planning to increase the force strength,” he added.
Patil also promised more housing facilities for CRPF troopers
He said all pending proposals of housing and infrastructure are under active consideration of the government.
