Kolkata : Xenitis Infotech Pvt Ltd, flagship company of Kolkata-based Xenitis Group, rolled out what the company calls the lowest priced laptop computer in the country, Xuva T14WN series, priced at Rs.19,900.
“India is the fastest growing IT hardware products market in the Asia-Pacific region. There is massive growth potential of laptop computers in India. Seeing the growth pattern, we have launched this sub-Rs.20,000 laptop in the country,” Xenitis group chairman and managing director Santanu Ghosh said here Monday.
He said the laptop would target the common people. “It would be the people’s laptop in India and would introduce a new trend in growth of laptop business in the country,” said Ghosh.
Xenitis Infotech also says that it is a pioneer in manufacturing desktop personal computers (PCs) and notebook PCs in the eastern region. The company claims that it was the first in India to introduce a sub-Rs.10,000 PC.
It launched the Xuva laptops in 2005.
The newly launched Xuva T14WN can be upgraded according to a user’s requirements.
The new laptop would target low-end customers such as students and entry-level professionals, Ghosh added.
The specifications of the laptop include Intel Celeron M 1.4 Ghz (360), Intel 945 GM chipset, 256 MB RAM, 80 GB hard disk, 3-in 1 card reader, and 14.1″ WXGA LCD screen.
