New Delhi : Kanz Kids, a leading kids wear brand from Europe, Thursday announced its entry into India by signing a licensing agreement with Prateek Apparel.
Prateek’s first outlet in association with Kanz was inaugurated at Noida, adjacent to Delhi. The firm will open nearly 100 outlets in 40 cities in India within the first year of its operation.
“We have been observing the Indian market for more than two years now. And now we think that it is the right time to enter the market,” said Ozgur Bender, managing director of Kanz, Germany.
“Not only in terms of designs, both fashionably as well as functionally, but in terms of pricing as well, we have kept in mind that our products will suit the Indian customer,” Bender added.
Among the various initiatives to be undertaken following this agreement is that a new collection will be added every 45 days and five collections will be added every season.
Also, each new collection will have its own accessories like caps, scarves, shoes, gloves and bath sets.
“Our collection will cater to children in age groups between 0 to 12 years, both boys and girls. Although we do cater to men’s and women’s wear, we decided to foray into children’s wear because we felt that the children’s market is rapidly growing in India,” Prateek managing director Pradeep Agarwal said.
“But despite this growth, there is a limited organised market for the kids. And very few international players are there in the domestic market. Hence we decided to step in with Kanz,” he added.
