Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s executive council meeting opens

Tehran : The first session of the executive council of Asian Parliamentary Assembly kicked off here Sunday.

Deputy Vice-Speaker of the Majlis Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard and secretary-general of the assembly, Mohammad-Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian, along with delegates from different Asian states attended the inaugural session of the gathering this morning.

Issues of mutual interest including globalization, Asian monetary fund, reduction of poverty, combat against corruption, economic solidarity of the Asian countries, and compilation of the draft agenda of the general assembly for 2007 are among issues being discussed by the participants in the three-day meeting.
