Amman : Tony Blair, the envoy of Middle East international Quartet, is to visit Jordan on Sunday and hold talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah II on peace progress, Jordanian officials said on Saturday.
Abdullah and Blair will examine efforts deployed to advance the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and discuss an international conference on the Mideast peace to be held in November in United States, according to Jordanian palace officials.
Blair, who was recently appointed as the Quartet envoy after he stepped down from the post of British prime minister, is on a regional tour in the Middle East.
He will report the outcome of his Mideast tour to the international Quartet, which groups the United Nations, the European Union, the United States and Russia, during its forthcoming meeting slated for Sept. 23 in New York.
