Arab parliamentarians condemn Israeli aircrafts infiltaration to Syrian airspace

Damascus : Arab Transitional Parliament has condemned infiltration of the Zionist enemy planes to the Syrian airspace and stressed that “this aggression is an aggression on the whole Arab nation and threatens directly heart of national Arab security and peace in the region and the world. ”

The parliament, in a statement at the end of its second regular session yesterday evening, called for standing by Syria and called on the Arab League, states of Organization of the Islamic Conference and on Arab, regional and international Parliaments to expose practices of the Zionist entity in regional and international circles.

The parliament also called on the Security Council to take the necessary and urgent action to condemn this aggression for being a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and principles of the international law and a threat to the international peace and security as called on the international community to put pressure on the Zionist entity to respond to the requirements of the peace process on basis of the international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab peace initiative.

The parliament, in its statement, stressed Syria’s right to defend its sovereignty and specially the right to respond in an appropriate time, voicing full solidarity with Syria in confronting the enemy aircrafts forcing them to withdraw without achieving their objectives.

Regarding to the Iraqi refugees, the Parliament appealed to the Arab states to ease restrictions on the entry of Iraqis to their lands as possible and also appealed to the civil and international organizations concerned with refugees’ affairs to present the necessary assistance to the Iraqis in each of Syria and Jordan.

The statement condemned fighting of the Palestinian people, affirming unity of the Palestinian factions representing the Palestinian people and the need to pursue dialogue with the concerned parties by the Parliament.

It stressed, in another resolution, independence and territorial integrity of Somalia, calling on Somali to achieve national reconciliation and renounce violence and fighting to preserve the unity of the Somali people.

The parliament appreciated the positive developments in Mauritania and congratulated the Mauritanian people on what they had achieved of democratic gains, particularly in regard to resolution of Mauritanian refugees to return and the abolition of slavery in Mauritania.

The Parliament emphasized the need for dialogue between Arab Transitional Parliament and the European Parliament and discussing Arab and European common issues and interests and cooperation in areas of human resource development and briefing on experience of the European Parliament and exchange of visits and experiences in addition to activating Arab Parliamentary Indian relations and Arab and Chinese relations.

The parliament completed and ratified, in its final session, reports of national Arab security and development of education in the Arab nation and transmitted it to the Arab League Secretary General to be presented to the Arab summit scheduled to be held in Damascus next year..It was agreed to convene the next meeting of Parliament in Cairo 26 next October.
