Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh) : A four-day cricket tournament between India ‘A’ and South Africa ‘A’ is being held at the Dharamsala International Cricket Stadium Sep 19-22.
“Tickets for the matches would be available at the authorised outlets of the HPCA from Sept 15 onwards.” Sanjya Sharma, spokesman of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), told IANS.
Representatives of the International Cricket Council (ICC) were in Dharamsala to inspect the stadium for the matches. HPCA has been requesting the ICC to organise International one-dayers here – particularly the matches with Pakistan.
Among others, Mohammad Kaif, Akash Chopra and Suresh Raina would play for India A. Live telecast of the matches would be relayed by Neo Sports Channel.
“In spite of infrastructural problems, we managed about 5,500 seats for the event, of which 4,000 seats are reserved for students.” Sharma said.
In 2005, a warm-up match between India ‘A’ and Pakistan team was organised here. Cricket tournaments such as the Duleep Trophy, Nissar championships and Ranji Trophy matches were also held at the stadium. But such tournaments have been irregular.
