Cairo : The Kuwait Zakat House said it has completed the implementation of several charitable projects in Egypt on the occasion of Ramadan.
This comes within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt, Ismail al-Kandari, chief of the Kuwaiti Office for Charity Projects in Cairo, an affiliate of the Kuwait Zakat House, told KUNA Monday.
Seven mosques and Islamic complexes have been handed to the Egyptian Ministry of Awkaf, and almost 10 religious institutes have also been given to Al-Azhar, together with two integrated hospitals to the Ministry of Health, he said.
Another 25 diverse projects are now still under construction, but will be completed and inaugurated before the end of this year.
The Kuwaiti charity office in Cairo will also distribute 40,000 meals to poor families in 19 governorates in the country during Ramadan, he added.
Such diverse charitable projects embody the depth of strong ties between Kuwait and Egypt thanks to both wise polices adopted by both countries’ leaders, he said.
