Edison (New Jersey) : Corp-Corp.com is a web portal launched recently to help IT recruiters in the US find the right people faster. It claims that better utilisation of the existing workforce can reduce the shortage of manpower being felt in the industry.

At a seminar organised by Corp-Corp in Edison last weekend on the IT consulting practice, which was attended by over 200 executives from various companies, many of the participants acknowledged that they were facing difficulties in finding contracts for their consultants quickly, ironically when there is talk in the trade of a shortage of skilled professionals.

On the other hand, Corp-Corp’s founder-CEO Prabakaran Murugaiah said at the seminar, there were hundreds of IT staffing companies in the US looking for qualified consultants for their client needs, and they too were having a hard time reaching the right candidates at the right time.

“If the right people are reached and utilised, minimising candidates’ time on the bench, the IT work force can be increased by as much as 20 percent,” Prabakaran, 35, told IANS.

Besides, when client needs are fulfilled as they arise, unproductive time between projects is cut short, improving the bottomline of the company.

The missing link, Prabakaran explained, is an integration tool among consulting companies to share their resources online. Corp-Corp.com’s technology can help the consulting companies to clear the bench candidates quickly by finding more requirements from the market.

More than 5,000 IT recruiters are using this portal already, Prabakaran claimed.

Nagaraj Kowsik, business development manager with ZSL Inc, said, “Now we have an opportunity to work with other consulting companies using a common tool, Corp-Corp.com.”

There is an estimated 200,000-300,000 Indian workers, mostly on H1B visa, employed by the IT industry in the US.
