“One third-country national was killed and eleven Coalition Forces members were wounded on Sept. 12 in an indirect fire attack on Camp Victory,” the statement said.

The indirect fire refers to the mortar or rocket attacks in the terms of the U.S. military statements.

The statement did not provide further details about the incident in the Camp Victory, which is a U.S. military base situated roughly 5 km from Baghdad International Airport.

Some 3,774 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
