Baghdad : A car bomb went off at a heavily-populated district in north-eastern Baghdad Thursday, killing four people and wounding 10 others, a well-informed police source said.
An explosives-rigged car parked near a square in the neighbourhood of Talbiyah detonated shortly before midday, killing four people and wounding ten others, the source said on condition of anonymity.
The blast damaged several nearby buildings and civilian cars, he said.
The car bombing came as the Iraqi authorities has eased a nightly curfew in Baghdad for the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, which started Thursday.
During the holy month, Muslims are required to abstain from food and drink from dawn until dusk.
