Major fire in Lucknow paint factory

Lucknow : A paint factory in Lucknow was completely gutted in a major fire Friday morning, though nobody was injured in the accident, officials said.

Ten fire tenders were pressed into service to control the blaze that was fuelled by heavy stocks of paint and other inflammable material spread all over the manufacturing unit in the crowded Aishbagh industrial area.

“All factory workers managed to move out to safety before the fire could engulf the entire unit,” a factory official told IANS.

He, however, could not give the extent of loss in terms of money. “It would be in millions,” he observed.

Fire officials described it as “one of the biggest fire incidents in the state capital in recent history”.
