London : Tests on a second farm in Britain have proved positive for foot-and-mouth disease, the government’s chief veterinary officer said Friday.
Stroude Farm, where 800 pigs and 40 cattle have been killed as a precaution, is close to site of the latest outbreak, confirmed the authorities Wednesday.
Both farms are in the village of Egham in Surrey, in southern Britain, where a 15-km surveillance zone has been imposed.
Meanwhile, Scotland and Wales Friday lifted a ban on the movement of livestock, imposed for the whole of Britain.
