Amsterdam, Sep 17 (Xinhua) Feyenoord retained the lead in the Dutch Eredivisie football league after a convincing 3-1 victory over hosts Roda JC, becoming the only side to win all their four games of the new season.
Feyenoord from Rotterdam was made to work hard in the first half, which saw it concede its first goal in the season in the 40th minute after Cheik Ismael Tiote opened the score for Roda.
In the second half, Feyenoord was in full control, scoring three times.
Roy Makaay converted a 47th minute penalty to level the scores. Jonathan de Guzman was fed on the right, skipping inside to rattle in an awesome drive into the back of the net to put Feyenoord 2-1 in front after 62 minutes.
Eight minutes later, de Guzman made it double after netting in a cross from the left to seal victory for the visitors.
With the come-from-behind victory, Feyenoord surpassed arch-rivals PSV Eindhoven and Ajax Amsterdam, who both won Saturday, to top the league standings.
Ajax and PSV, both have three wins and a draw, to be placed second and third respectively.
Next weekend, Feyenoord travel to PSV while Ajax visit AZ Alkmaar.
