“We have requested the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Sikkim as well as the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) to take all precautionary measures and remain vigilant in view of the political developments in Nepal,” the Ministry of Home Affairs said here in a statement.

Trouble in Nepal arose after the Maoists Tuesday quit the coalition government, announced boycott of the Nov 22 elections, and decided on a “street revolt” to get rid of monarchy. Hundreds of Maoist cadres marched into capital Kathmandu and burnt effigies of King Gyanendra.
