Beirut : A huge explosion occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Sin el-Fil district, a Christian suburb in eastern Beirut, at least four people were killed and some were injured, Lebanese New TV reported.
The TV footage showed some wounded were lying on the ground, waiting for ambulances, while heavy smoke was seen rising from the burning cars. But the cause was not immediately known.
The TV station also reported that the loud explosion sent a cloud of gray smoke over the area.
In the last two years, Lebanon has been hit by a spate of mysterious bombings, the last of which killed Lebanese Parliament member Walid Eido on June 13 this year.
