Tehran : Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said here Sunday that Tehran sees no obstacle in the way of a visit to Iran of the French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, Hosseini reiterated that such visits and diplomatic consultations would help officials of other countries forge better understanding toward the realities inside Iran and the regional issues.
After his convulsive allegations against Iranian nuclear program were faced with harsh global reaction, shifting from his previous stands, Kouchner voiced readiness to visit Iran and hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
Referring to the latest developments in Iraq, including the arrest of Mahmoud Farhadi, a member of an Iranian trade delegation, by the US forces in Soleimanyeh in northern Iraq, Hosseini said no change has been witnessed in Washington’s policies.
Therefore, he added, the next round of Iran-US talks on Iraq would require taking all these issues into consideration.
