Kolkata : Former India captain Sourav Ganguly Monday said Mahendra Singh Dhoni with his leadership quality has the capability to emerge as one of the finest skippers of the nation.
“His presence in the team is good for the future of Indian cricket. He does not need my advice for Twenty20 format of the game as he is more experienced than me,” Ganguly said on the sidelines of a Tata Tele Services function here.
Ganguly, who spoke hours before the Twenty20 final at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, said: “Yuvraj Singh is undergoing a dream phase of his career but it is the teamwork that clinches a match.”
“To win a Twenty20 match planning is equally important because it is as tough as any other form of the game if not more. There is very little scope for impulsive cricket,” he added.
“You just can’t go to the ground and hit sixes. You need to prepare carefully for a game. India is playing well because they are playing with a specific game plan,” he said.
