The tea will be available only to ration cardholders, GSCFC said.

STC chairman and managing director Arvind Pandalai and S.K. Nanda, state principal secretary for food and civil supplies respectively, announced the launch here Monday. GSCFC managing director A.K. Rakesh was also present.

The STC-GSCSC tie-up fructified after several rounds of negotiations. GSCFC has placed an initial order for three truckloads, or about 10 tonnes, of tea. This is STC’s first foray into sale of tea in Gujarat.

STC has made arrangements for the supply of tea, which has been specially blended and packaged for GSCSC under the supervision of STC’s own experts, taking into account the taste and liking of the Gujaratis.
