Mumbai, Sep 26 (IANS) Swayed by the overall mood of the global markets and heavy purchases by foreign funds, Indian equities were once again on a roll Wednesday, sending a key market index above the 17,000-mark during intra-day trading.
Within a week of the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) breaching the 16,000-point market the next milestone was achieved when the key index jumped to 17,013.10.
The 30-share index was quoting at 16,995.67 points at 10:30 a.m., up 0.56 percent, or 96.13 points, over the previous day’s close at 16,899.54 points. The index had crossed 16,000 last Wednesday.
