Khartoum : President Omer Al-Bashir of Sudan has affirmed the importance of the existence of a genuine national will for realizing peace in Darfur, pointing out that the peace process should start from within Darfur through the Darfur-Darfur dialogue.
He said this in his address at Ramadan breaking of fast banquet given Tuesday by the Coptic sect at the Coptic Club in Omdurman.
President Al-Bashir referred to efforts being exerted by the government for the success of the coming peace negotiations in Tripoli.
The president lauded the role being played by the Coptic sect in boosting religious co-existence in the country, referring to the conference organized in Khartoum recently on the Islamic-Christian dialogue that laid the basis for the inter-religious dialogue.
Bishop of Omdurman Anba Saraba Moon called for unity of ranks to confront the challenges facing the country, while lauding the level of religious co-existence in Sudan.
