Ahmadinejad departs Caracas for Tehran

Caracas : Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, ending his stopover visit to Venezuela, departed Caracas for Tehran after formal send-off ceremony.

During the visit, President Ahmadinejad and his accompanying delegation signed three agreements on cooperation in energy and industry fields and a comprehensive cooperation pact that was signed by the two countries’ presidents.

During his short stay in Caracas, he held talks with President Hugo Chavez and attended a banquet in his honor.

This was Ahmadinejad’s third visit of Venezuela and Bolivia after being elected as Iranian President.

President Ahmadinejad’s second visit to Latin America began on Thursday morning, Tehran time, with stopover visits to Bolivia and Venezuela.

The Iranian president and his high ranking delegation had left Tehran last Sunday for New York to attend the UN General Assembly.

On Wednesday and last day of his stay in the United States, President Ahmadinejad had a series of meeting with a number of world leaders and high ranking officials attending the UN General assembly at his UN residence in New York.
