Amsterdam : Feyenoord beat Heerenveen 2-0 at home to be back to the top of the Dutch Eredivisie football league.
Feyenoord have 15 points from six matches with PSV on 14 ahead of Ajax who have 13.
Roy Makaay and Nick Hofs scored for Feyenoord in the first half to bring home the victory. Makaay put Feyenoord ahead after 21 minutes when he netted a rebound after Luigi Bruins hit the post and seven minutes later Hofs doubled the lead with a close range header.
PSV were held to a 1-1 draw at NAC Breda.
Matthew Amoah put NAC in front 20 minutes into the second half as PSV’s Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho da Silva Gomes was beaten for the first time this season but 11 minutes later Danko Lazovic set up Kenneth Perez for the equaliser.
Goran Lovre scored five minutes after the break to earn Groningen a 1-0 home win over Sparta Rotterdam.
Excelsior Rotterdam struck three second-half goals to snatch their first point in a 3-3 draw at Roda JC Kerkrade.
