New Delhi : Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni leaves for Singapore and China later Friday, leading her ministry’s Incredible India campaign, which showcases the country’s vibrant art, culture and heritage.
During her three-day visit, Soni will inaugurate a cultural event in Singapore, while in Beijing she will open the new India tourism office.
The event in Singapore, jointly organised by the tourism and culture ministry and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), will show different facets of India’s growth, tourism products and art and culture.
As part of the event, various activities and programmes will also be organised, said an official statement issued here Friday.
Apart from cultural performances from different regions, Indian handicrafts would be displayed, especially those made by artisans from rural tourism sites. A photographic exhibition will also be organised as part of the four-day Incredible India event.
Also, India would be extensively promoted and marketed through print and outdoor advertising, the statement said.
India and Singapore are collaborating both bilaterally and through Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
After the Singapore event, Soni will proceed to China to inaugurate the new India tourism office in Beijing April 7.
A cultural programme will also be organised on the same day in which 71 artistes would perform a choreographic composition, which has been directed by leading Bharatnatyam dancer Leela Samson.
Soni will return to India, but the incredible India programmes will travel to Shanghai where apart from Indian dances, Indian food will also be a part of the two-day function.
