Moscow : Russia will complete tests of its new sea-launched ballistic missile Bulava-M in 2008, a Russian navy official said.
“The missile will fly, and will fly this year,” Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky told journalists Friday.
He linked the missile’s previous unsuccessful launches to technical problems, which “can be resolved”.
Borei-class Project 955 nuclear powered submarines will carry the Bulava, designed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology. Each of the submarines to be equipped with sixteen missiles. The NATO reporting name of the missile is SS-NX-30.
