Three Pakistani players quizzed by ICC officials

Dubai : International Cricket Council (ICC) Wednesday said it had interrogated three Pakistani players over the match-fixing allegations raised by banned bowler Shoaib Akhtar.

“ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) carried out interviews with three Pakistan players, Danish Kaneria, Younis Khan and Umar Gul,” an ICC statement said.

“The interviews took place in Lahore on April 5 and 6. The purpose of these interviews was to seek specific information and the ACSU confirmed that this information was provided by the players,” the statement said.

ICC clarified that the interviews were not conducted in relation to any alleged breach of the its Code of Conduct.
