New Delhi : At least 17 cadres of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) have been killed in separate clashes in battle-fatigued northern Sri Lanka. As many as five LTTE rebel was killed in different clashes North-eastern Welioya yesterday, the Sri Lankan Defence Ministry said in a statement at Colombo Friday. As many as three LTTE rebels were killed in the Viddayanmurippu area in North-western Mannar yesterday. Three LTTE cadres were also killed in Vavuniya sector yesterday, Sri Lankas Media Centre for National Security said today. As many as three rebels were also killed in the Muhamalai region in Jaffna yesterday, the Defence Ministry said.
In Mannar, security forces killed three LTTE cadres yesterday, the Ministry added.
