Palestinians should take Olmert threats seriously – Qatari Press

Doha : By earmarking US dollars 38 million to celebrate its 60th foundation anniversary, Israel shows how lightly it takes Palestinians and the international calls for peace making, an Arabic newspaper said.
Israel is neither clearly uninterested in peace nor has it any intention to embark on any genuine peace-making track with Palestinians or any Arab party, the Arabic /al-Watan/ newspaper said.

When Israel was founded 60 years, Palestinians have been driven out of their homes and turned into refugees in neighboring Arab countries or elsewhere around the world, the paper recalled.
Sixty years on, their plight of Palestinians seems to be dragging on indefinitely with no glimpse of hope that their odyssey may come to end any time soon, the paper added.
The extravagant Israeli celebrations show how lightly Israel takes the Palestinian people and their six-decade suffering, the paper said.

Olmert government seems to be unable to make the peace needed to establish security and stability, the paper said. This means that Olmert government would press ahead with its ill-advised course risking the hazards of a road full of mines and explosives, the paper said.
