Agra : A police sub-inspector was shot dead by a gang of criminals here Monday evening.
Police sources said sub-inspector P.L. Kushwaha from Mainpuri district was on special duty for the Bhim Nagari inauguration here Tuesday evening by Mayawati.
Around 5 p.m., he was approached by three people at the Mantola crossing. One shot him from point blank range, killing him on the spot. One of the assailants was nabbed by passersby.
According to sources, Kushwaha had earlier got into an altercation with the father of the killer.
