The deaths have been reported from three districts of Khordha, Nayagarh and the coastal district of Puri, an official of the state revenue control room told IANS.

The people reportedly died of dehydration and sunstroke. A joint team of health and revenue officials of the respective districts will investigate the deaths and submit a report to the government, he said.

The maximum temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius and above have been reported this week from Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Talcher and state capital Bhubaneswar.
