The Chinese nationals will be working at the thermal power plant to be set up in Rajasthan.

“The central government has ratified the decision of the Rajasthan government in granting permission to seven Chinese nationals to visit and work at a site of a thermal power station being set up in the protected area in the state,” home minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told Lok Sabha in a written reply.

Samajwadi Party MP Jayaprada had sought details of the deliberations that went into the making of the decision.

According to the home ministry, the permission was given on the recommendation of the Rajasthan government after obtaining requisite clearance from security agencies.

“A security vetting is done before granting clearance to foreigners to visit restricted areas,” Jaiswal added.
