Islamabad : The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Wednesday said that the government will resolve every issue in line with the constitution.
All vital national issues would be decided in accordance with the law and constitution, said the Prime Minister while talking to newsmen in eastern Lahore city at the inauguration ceremony of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber seminar on “Economic Freedom – a stimulator in achieving business excellence in South Asia”. When asked about how the judges will be restored, the Prime Minister said that a democratic and parliamentary procedure would be adopted for restoration of the deposed judges. He indirectly referring to the rule of President General (rtd.) Pervez Musharraf said that in the past the words of an individual were treated as constitution and the law, adding, Pakistan has now become a democracy in which all decisions will be made in the parliament in accordance with the constitution and the law.
In his inauguration speech, the Prime Minister said that the government machinery will serve as a facilitator rather than a regulator and that all unnecessary barriers in way of economic growth will be removed. He said that SAARC is at a crucial crossroads, it has achieved much, but certainly has the potential to achieve much more. The member nations of SAARC have a collective responsibility to demonstrate the courage, commitment and foresight to transform South Asia into a progressive, peaceful and prosperous region, he said.
