Shouting slogans against China, about 5,000 protestors gathered at Rajghat to begin a rally to Jantar Mantar several kilometres away in central Delhi following a prayer ceremony.

The protestors wearing yellow T-shirts and band with slogans of “Free Tibet” are expected to complete their march in two hours, just a short while before the Olympic torch begins its run from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate.

Security personnel had not allowed the protesters to light the torch inside Rajghat but they managed to do so outside the memorial.
