Two Islamic Jihad militants killed in N West Bank

Ramallah : A senior Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militant and his aide were killed on Thursday in the village of Qabatia, south of northern West Bank city of Jenin, the movement and medics said.

The Islamic Jihad said in a statement that a special Israeli army force surrounded a house in the village at predawn and exchanged fire with Bilal Ikmail, 26 and Izzedin E’weisat, 19.

The movement added that the two ran out of ammunition following several hours of exchange of fire and “the Zionist soldiers fired a missile at the house and killed both of them.”

Palestinian residents in the village said that several Israeli army armored vehicles and jeeps stormed the village right after midnight, clashed with two militants, killed them and pulled back in the morning.

Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources in the West Bank said the Israeli army rounded up 26 Palestinians all over the West Bank, ten of them from the West Bank city of Nablus.

In Gaza, 18 Palestinians were killed in a daylong of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Three Israeli soldiers were also killed during clashes with Gaza militants.
