In a symposium last night on expectations for the next parliament, the candidate said that Kuwait needs a solid development plan that arranges priorities according to the citizens’ needs, adding harmony among MPs is also a must.

He also stressed the importance of education and education output, and the need to foster strong sense of citizenship and responsibility in new generations. The candidate also demanded more educational institutions to meet the state’s growing needs.

He called for unity and team work in order to serve the country, adding Kuwait is up to a leadership role in the region. He meanwhile urged reform to boost performance of state bodies, especially in the health and housing sectors which are weighed down by serious problems year after year.

He added the high cost of living and high prices we have been seeing and suffering for months should top the MPs’ agenda, calling for new mechanisms to guarantee citizens decent living.

AL-Khanfoor then shed light on the problem of unemployment and its negative results for the individual and society in general. He said “It is not acceptable to have such a problem in a country that enjoys a lively strong economy, and such a problem is an indication of imbalance.”
