Gulf Air to fly to Hyderabad from July 1

Dubai : Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air is going to launch daily non-stop flights between Bahrain and Hyderabad in India from July 1.

“India is one of the key countries that we are looking at to expand and grow as part of our strategy to be the airline of choice,” Gulf Air chief executive Bjorn Naf said in a statement.

“Being the first regional carrier to operate flight to India, our infrastructure in the country is well-established and our preparations are well under way to commence our Hyderabad operations.”

The capital of Andhra Pradesh will become the eighth Indian destination the airline will fly to.

The Hyderabad operation will increase the airline’s flight frequencies to India to 68 per week.

The airline will use Airbus A320-200 aircraft on the new route.

Bahrain is home to around 275,000 expatriate Indians.
