New Delhi : Delhi Daredevils’ 191 for five against Bangalore Royal Challengers here Wednesday night is their highest total in the Indian Premier League (IPL) so far.
Daredevils surpassed their 158 for 8 against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali Sunday.
Other statistical highlights of Wednesday’s match:
# Bangalore Royal Challengers became the second team after Mumbai Indians to lose four games in the IPL.
# Daredevils registered the third win in four games.
# Gautam Gambhir (86 off 54 balls) posted his career-best score in Twenty20, bettering his 75 off 54 balls for India in the final of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup against Pakistan at Johannesburg Sep 24, 2007.
# Gambhir registered two 50-plus scores in the IPL. His previous fifty in the competition was 58 not out off 46 balls against Rajasthan Royals at Delhi April 19.
# Shikhar Dhawan (50 off 33 balls) is now the second Delhi batsman to post two fifties in the IPL. His highest is 52 not out off 41 balls against Rajasthan Royals at Delhi April 19.
# The 53-run partnership between Gambhir and Virender Sehwag is Delhi Daredevils’ highest for the first wicket in the IPL, bettering the 31 between the same pair against Deccan Chargers at Hyderabad April 22.
# Kallis (2/39) produced his best bowling figures in the IPL.
# Zaheer Khan became the first bowler to claim eight wickets (ave.19.87) in the competition.
# Glenn McGrath became the first bowler to capture four wickets in an innings in the IPL.
# McGrath (4/29) produced his best figures in Twenty20.
# Rahul Dravid (38) registered his highest score in the IPL.
# Kallis’ 54 off 44 balls is his career-best score in the Twenty20 and his second fifty.
# Kallis is now the third all-rounder after Yusuf Pathan and Shane Watson to post a fifty and claim two wickets in an IPL match.
