Malkangiri (Orissa) : Maoist guerrillas killed a man early Wednesday in Orissa’s Malkangiri district and then triggered a blast when Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were going to the spot to investigate, police said.
A trooper was critically injured in the explosion.
The Maoists guerrillas killed the man, suspecting him to be a police informer, at Badigata village, some 60 km from the district headquarter of Malkangiri and 700 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, a police official said. The identity of the victim is not yet known, he said.
