While addressing a meeting in Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, Gillani said his country has always stood for peace, as it is the guarantee of stability in the region and the world at large.

“We want friendly relations with all countries, including India, ” the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) quoted Gillani as saying.

Pakistan will take forward the peace process with India to bring stability to the region and will work on the resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute, he added.

Gillani said talks were the only option to address conflicts and termed it a positive trend.

It is Gillani’s first visit to Pakistan-controlled Kashmir since he assumed office last month.
