New Delhi : Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Arjun Singh’s health condition has improved but he is still in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here. He was admitted to the hospital with multiple health problems.
“His condition has improved,” AIIMS medical superintendent D.K. Sharma said Friday.
Singh was taken to AIIMS Wednesday night and was diagnosed with gall bladder stones, left ventricular failure and a host of other problems.
Hospital sources said that the 78-year-old Congress leader had undergone a series of tests and that he would remain in the ICU for “at least four more days”.
Singh also suffers from diabetes, coronary artery disease, diabetic nephropathy (kidney related problems) and chronic obstructive airways disease, Sharma explained.
The heart has four chambers and the lower two chambers are called ventricular chambers.
A multidisciplinary team of doctors headed by T.K. Chattopadhyay, head of the department of gastrointestinal surgery, and Chandra Lekha, head of the department of intensive care, is attending on the minister.
