New Delhi : The Delhi Police Sunday arrested one person for his alleged involvement in the murder of businessman Arun Gupta here in April. The police had earlier claimed that the case was solved after arrests of four people a few weeks after the murder.
Gupta, 47, was shot dead by three unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants barely a few metres from his home in Kalkaji in south Delhi, when he was going to his electronic goods shop in Bhagirath Palace in Old Delhi.
On a tip-off that the accused Afroz alias Firoz will be coming to meet his associates around 2 p.m. Sunday on Wazirabad Road, a trap was laid, the police said.
Firoz along with his two associates were arrested following a brief exchange of fire, the police added.
The two others arrested are Kafil Ahmad and Mohammad Sajid. The police recovered one pistol, two illegally made pistols and some live cartridges from their possession.
