By Prensa Latina,

Washington : Demonstrations are expected to take place during the scheduled Asian tour of President George W. Bush as of Tuesday.

According to a White House spokesperson, the US president will visit South Korea and Thailand after a four-day tour of China, including his presence at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games opening ceremony and a meeting with his peer Hu Jintao.

The local newspaper The Korea Herald reported Seoul will be protected by 16,000 police officers because civil organizations announced they will demonstrate against President Bush’s visit, during which he is expected to discuss free trade, security and nuclear disarmament in the Korean peninsula.

Bush´s visit to Thailand is intended to celebrate the 175th anniversary of bilateral relations between both nations, and also to talk Myanmar, neighboring country under severe sanctions promoted by the Bush administration.

As part of his busy Beijing agenda, President Bush will attend the opening ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games with some relatives, including his wife and his father, ex President George H. Bush (1989-1993).
